In plain words
We subtract a small yearly percentage from every yield so riskier pools don't look better just because they pay more: 1% for established protocols up to 10% for unproven ones, and more for loops. It's an estimate, not a prediction.
Worked example
On $10,000 for a year in a mature protocol (2%): $200.
